Konyaspor have revealed their financial standing with clarity. Club President Ömer Atiker announced that Konyaspor's net debt amounts to 2.7 billion Turkish lira.
Atiker recalled that the paper debt at the time the administration took over was 1.5 billion TL. After including arrangements, interest, and exchange rate differences, that figure reached approximately 2 billion TL. The management paid off and restructured all files, social security, tax, and various current debts after taking charge. Debt burden management is the top priority, followed by the tax office and social security installment plans. Player payments are significantly below the debt burden.
We Want to Leave Lasting Works
President Atiker announced the launch of the Yeşil Beyaz Sanayi Sitesi Project to reduce debts and secure a sustainable future for the club. He said the aim is to reduce Konyaspor's debt burden, ease its financial structure, and create sustainable income sources. The project will create a total of 1510 workplaces of various sizes. Sales of these workplaces will be conducted in fixed installments over 5 years. Atiker stated they want to leave lasting works that will benefit future administrations and contribute to the club's economic future.
The implementation of the project received support from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The promotion meeting was attended by Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, and AK Party Konya Provincial Chairman Fatih Özgökçen.
This announcement comes after Konyaspor's tough start to the Süper Lig season. The team sits 16th in the league with 3 points from 5 games. Their form in the last five matches reads WLLLL, one win and four defeats. After beating Trabzonspor 1-0 last week, Konyaspor face a trip to 4th-placed Kasımpaşa this weekend. The project's ultimate goal is to free the club from debts owed to administrators and establish a solid financial structure.
