TÜMOSAN Konyaspor claimed their first point of the Süper Lig season with a 0-0 draw away to Kasımpaşa on Friday. The match at Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Stadium ended goalless, providing a valuable result for the visiting side.
Konyaspor, with Bahadır Han Güngördü in goal, created the first clear chance in the 9th minute. Uğurcan Yazğılı's shot, set up by Deniz Türüç, was pushed behind for a corner by goalkeeper Gianniotis. Kasımpaşa's best opportunity came in the 20th minute when Ali Yavuz Kol's long-range effort flew just wide of the near post.
The second half followed a similar pattern with neither side able to break the deadlock. Adil Demirbağ's header in the 57th minute was saved by Gianniotis, while at the other end, Benedyzcak's effort from inside the box was parried by Güngördü in the 50th minute. The match concluded with both teams sharing the spoils.
EMRE BELÖZOĞLU'S ASSESSMENT
Kasımpaşa head coach Emre Belözoğlu addressed the media after the final whistle. "The first 10 minutes were not very good for us. After that, things didn't go badly. We started the second half very well too." he said. Belözoğlu added, "I am happy that our defence played so courageously. Our expectations in attack are a bit higher."
The draw moves Konyaspor up to 13th place in the Süper Lig table with 4 points from their opening 6 matches. Their recent form reads DWLLL from the last five games. The team's next fixture is at home against 15th-placed Başakşehir on 11 October 2026.
